Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 January 2026 · These terms form a binding agreement between you and Nordlys Editorial Media ApS governing your use of curiouslanebrowsing.lol.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website curiouslanebrowsing.lol and all content, features and functionality made available through it (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Nordlys Editorial Media ApS, company number 41920765, registered at Store Kongensgade 68, 3. sal, 1264 Copenhagen K, Denmark ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
2. Nature of the Service — editorial, not transactional
The Service is an independent editorial publication about five hotels in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is informational in nature. We are not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform, reservation intermediary, price comparison service or agent of any hotel. We do not take bookings, hold inventory, accept payment for accommodation, issue confirmations, or act on behalf of any accommodation provider. Any contract for accommodation is formed exclusively between you and the relevant hotel or its authorised distributor, on that party's own terms. Prices, room counts, facilities, restaurant offerings, opening hours and seasonal arrangements described on the Service are indicative, subject to change without notice, and must be verified directly with the hotel before you rely on them.
3. Eligibility and user obligations
You must be at least sixteen years old to use the Service, or older if the law in your jurisdiction requires it. You agree to use the Service lawfully and, in particular, you agree that you will not:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, licence, adapt, translate or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as permitted in clause 4;
- use automated means — scrapers, crawlers, bots, harvesting scripts — to extract content at scale, or to place unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, databases or any connected system, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any of them;
- introduce malware, viruses, trojans, logic bombs or other harmful code;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice;
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person or entity, including our staff;
- use the contact form or our email addresses to transmit unsolicited commercial communications, abusive content, defamatory allegations or content that infringes third-party rights.
4. Intellectual property rights
All editorial text, research, route data, comparison tables, page structure, layout, design system, graphics, logos, iconography and source code comprising the Service are owned by Nordlys Editorial Media ApS or licensed to us, and are protected by Danish and international copyright, database and trademark law. The name "curiouslanebrowsing.lol" and our mark are our trademarks.
You may view, download and print individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning. You may quote short extracts — not exceeding 150 words — in reviews, academic work or journalism, provided you attribute the source clearly and link to the original page. Any other use, including systematic copying, republication on another website, inclusion in a commercial product, or use as training data for machine learning systems, requires our prior written permission.
Photographs displayed on the Service are licensed from third-party providers or used under their applicable licence terms. Those images are not covered by the permission in the preceding paragraph and may not be extracted or reused. Hotel names, logos and marks belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively for the purpose of editorial reporting; their appearance does not imply endorsement, partnership or affiliation.
5. Accuracy, independence and corrections
We research each entry independently and re-verify published details at least twice a year. We accept no payment, commission, complimentary accommodation or gifts in exchange for coverage, and we publish no sponsored content. Nevertheless, hotels change: restaurants close, spas are refurbished, rates move, room counts are re-categorised. We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free. If you find an inaccuracy, please tell us via the contact page; we publish corrections with a date and a description of the change.
6. Third-party links and content
The Service contains links to external websites operated by hotels, restaurant guides, transport operators, tourism boards and mapping providers. These links are provided for verification and convenience only. We do not control, monitor, endorse or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices of any third-party site. Accessing a linked site is entirely at your own risk and subject to that site's terms.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, defects or harmful components, nor that any defect will be corrected. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, nor for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including, without limitation, losses arising from reliance on rates, availability, facilities, opening hours, travel times or route information published here, or from a booking made with any third party. Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising in any twelve-month period, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, shall not exceed EUR 100 (one hundred euro). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Danish law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nordlys Editorial Media ApS, its directors, employees and contractors from and against any claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, costs and reasonable legal fees arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of any third-party right.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if your use threatens the security, integrity or availability of the Service, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service, permanently or temporarily, at any time and without liability to you. Clauses 4, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 survive termination.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where you are a consumer resident in another EU or EEA member state, you additionally benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and nothing here deprives you of them.
We would prefer to resolve any dispute informally: please write to [email protected] setting out the issue, and we undertake to respond substantively within thirty days. If the matter is not resolved, the courts of Copenhagen (Københavns Byret) shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory right a consumer has to bring proceedings in the courts of their own domicile. Consumers resident in the EU may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. General provisions
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Service.
- Severability: if any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force, and the invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid one that most closely reflects the original intent.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice.
- Changes: we may amend these Terms from time to time. The effective date will be updated and, for material changes, a notice will appear on the homepage for at least thirty days. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
- Force majeure: we are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Language: these Terms are published in English; any translation is provided for convenience and the English text prevails.
